Help me solve the mystery of the missing ping
Can anyone solve the mystery of the missing ping?
Technorati says this blog was last updated 3 days ago (lies) and my authority is listed at 2 (lies).
The search engines I can understand, but this Technorati thing is making me crazy! I never really cared before now because my other blog was essentially designed for the search engines. But now I want to blog, and Technorati is giving me a hard time.
I have added the little ping code to my blog, and I have manually gone to Technorati and pressed PING… but still no ping. So if anyone can help me that would be wonderful.
I am hoping that they will ping me with this post - but what if they don’t? And shouldn’t my authority increase regardless of being pinged?

Good luck with Technorati… I noticed the same thing for my blog, I have to manually ping like crazy to get an update. But worst, for some site I don’t even get the authority. I wrote once to ask if they could do something, the first time it worked fine, the guy did something manually and added the authority. The second time, the girl just said she couldn’t do anything, I have to contact the person that linked to my site to fix something (I don’t think so!). So we might loose authorities if we don’t know we are linked to.
And yes, it should increase regardless of the pings, but for me sometimes, it only appears a couple of days later!!! How frustrating…

Make sure you don’t modify already posted bloggeries too often. If you do technorati will start ignoring you… :( It’s happened to me. Be careful!

Well I just submitted my site to Technorati 3 days ago as this is when I put my new blog up. I have not had time to upset Technorati yet - I used to edit all the time on my old blog but I never had this problem.
I am sad - Technorati authority of 2! :(

Well I went through the forums on Technorati and I guess this problem is not unique. I sent a message to support.
Maybe they can tell me what is wrong. I never had this problem with my other blog, and I don’t think I have done anything wrong…. well I hope not!

Yippee! The problem has been fixed, no doubt because of the fine people in Admin at Technorati… My authority is now correct and my Technorati rank, though still leaving a lot to be desired, is at least accurate! Woohoo!
Thanks Technorati!
