FaceBookCamp Toronto 2

FaceBook Camp

On October 9, I plan on attending FaceBookCampToronto2, an “unconference” that is part of FaceBook Developer Garage, and it brings together developers and marketers to discuss the creation and promotion of FaceBook apps. The first FaceBookCamp that occurred on August 8 was geared more to the development crowd, but the agenda for the October 9 FaceBookCamp seems geared more to the marketers among us.

I am still making my mind up whether I want to live-blog the event, or if I want to cover it in a series over the week following. But I will be be covering the events of FaceBookCamp Toronto on October 9 in any case for those who are unable to attend.

For those interested and who will be in the Toronto area on October 9, you can confirm your attendance to FaceBookCampToronto2 here: BarCamp wiki

I’m really excited about the FacebookCamp as well. Maybe I should live blog it? Or would you like to live-blog it for MaRS? Do you ever actually read live blogs?

I am really excited about this - I really like what is on the agenda and I am hoping to convince some people that I work with to go as well.

I definitely think that the event should be live-blogged for those who cannot attend, because the topics are very relevant. My laptop is being silly, so I am not sure I will be able to live-blog… that is the reason for my reluctance to confirm what form my coverage will take.

I do read live blogs, both during and after the fact… I find that live blogs tend to do away with the commentary, and are great for spreading the word quickly. The coverage from these live blogs can then be converted into thoughtful posts. I am hoping to cover what happened at FaceBook camp in a few posts following the event.

Hope to see you there! :)

It would be super-sweet to podcast those speaking at the conference.

I am not a big user of FaceBook, and won’t log in unless I receive a message… but I am interested in its capabilities and the opportunities it affords.
