Change of address

I don’t know if it is just boredom or the fact that I wanted a .com domain… but my blog address has changed. I don’t know. It’s too cold to go outside so I am just at home making domain name messiness. ;) I have all these domains, though. I don’t need 5 domains for all the same theme. So I am streamlining. Plus, there is another girl who has PinkSEO.info and I don’t want us to be competing for who is the PINKSEOiest.

Marketing breast cancer awareness

There are many reasons that I am blogging for breast cancer this month, and one of them is the fact that breast cancer awareness and PINK has been marketed to me by some very savvy professionals.

The ribbon campaigns, walks, runs, benefits, these all help to raise money. But more than ever, I have been seeing PINK PRODUCTS. Campbell’s and M&Ms are two names that come to mind. The Hudson Bay Company here in Canada has a huge line of pink products available this month from all kinds of sources. And while many of these will only give a minimal 10%, I have no doubt that people will buy them. Ten percent does add up, after all. It utilizes the idea of the purple cow discussed by Seth Godin. Where brown cows are very boring after you look at them for a while, but throw in a purple cow and it’s exciting again. Take the normal can of Campbell’s soup. How many tens of years have we been looking at that red and white background!? Now, all of a sudden: Pink? The fact that it is Campbell’s is what makes it so unique. It was a superb idea. And M&Ms, well they have been around the colour block so many times but it’s still cool. ;)

pinksoup.jpg Everyone Loves Coupons has a great post relating to pink products being sold to raise awareness for breast cancer. Andrew graciously invites us all to Shop For A Cure. He also points out how you can click to provide free mammograms.

At Totally Fabulous, find a list of many bloggers who have taken it upon themselves to raise money and/or awareness for breast cancer. Check out her post reminding you to Think Pink this month.

So far, I have raised 0 monies for breast cancer. I will donate $25 so I have raised 25 monies. :) Yay! I wish I had some pink soup to sell you all then I would be rolling in monies.

Please remember, I am currently offering paid reviews on my blog. All monies from reviews and ads in October will be donated to a breast cancer research and awareness building charity.

In The Spirit of Pink: Blogging For A Good Cause

Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Logo

During the month of October, I will be blogging in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. October 2007 is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and be sure to check out Finding Hope, the CBCF blog. Yes, they’re blogging too. In any case, I got a few good suggestions and I would like try a few things to raise some money this month. All monies made on the Pink Internet Marketing blog will be donated to the CBCF.

Donate Button at the Bottom of Each Post

For the month of October, each post will include a donate button. I will of course indicate with the button that the monies are all being donated to this Pink Cause, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. I am not sure how well this will do, but perhaps I can garner a few donations. Any small contribution counts, am I not correct?

Review Blogs or Websites

During the month of October, get your blog or website reviewed here at Pink Internet Marketing by making a donation to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. If you are interested in a review here on my blog, please email me at technophelia [at] yahoo.ca. I can provide you with a good thorough review, and can even comment on ways to maximize the potential of your site in search if you are not inclined to that sort of thing.

All Donors Will Get a Link On This Post

If you would like to have link here on this post, leave it in the special notes space when you donate, along with the anchor text of your preference (I will not link to porn or drug sites, sorry). If you prefer to remain anonymous, that is okay too.

A Few Awareness Raising Posts

During the month of October, I plan on posting a few times about Breast Cancer Awareness month, to remind people and continue to raise awareness. Hopefully these can draw some attention and garner some attention for donations.

Other Ways To Help

Spread awareness about Breast Cancer Awareness month, and about the Pink Cause. As October 2007 is Breast Cancer Awareness month, bloggers can raise awareness by blogging about it! ;)

It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Pink SEO Needs Help Thinking Pink

This month I plan to support the fight against breast cancer. It seems fitting as my blog is entirely pink. I want to encourage donations at the end of each post, and I also want to post on breast cancer issues during the month of October.

If anyone has any good suggestions for raising money this month, or wants to post a guest post on my blog on the subject, please let me know. I would like to help raise some money this month for the cause, or at least some awareness.  :)

All the monies made in October will be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation on Pink Internet Marketing.

Searching for God in Google

chat with godToday I searched for God in Google. I am not personally a religious person, but I still thought this would be interesting. You know those anthropologists who go sift through garbage to study urban culture. I feel that way about search results. In any case, back to my search for God.

So I found a few interesting things on the first page for a Google search for “god”.

On the iGod site, you can actually chat with God. I spoke for a while with “the big man” of monotheism, and apparently he really likes Christian Rock, his favourite activity is chatting online and he is single. But God is apparently not the all-knowing omnipotent being he has been made out to be because he was stumped by my first question. :P

I also checked out Battleground God. Here you answer questions relating to your belief or non-belief in God and it looks for logical inconsistencies in your answers based on previous answers.

When you search for God there are 342,000,000 in Google, with only 88,400,000 results for Devil. For God and Devil the #1 site in Google is Wikipedia.

I have an organ donor card and Victor Davis had one too

In Canada in 2005, people on the waiting list for an organ donation: 4025
People who died while on the waiting list: 283 (5 people per week)

Swimming had been something Victor Davis, who was born in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, had enjoyed since he was a boy. During his career, Davis held several world records as the winner of 29 national titles and 16 medals in international competition. At the 1982 world championships in Guayaquil, Ecuador, he set his first world record while winning the gold medal in the 200-metre breaststroke. At the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California, he won a silver medal in the 100-meter breaststroke event, then captured the gold medal in the 200-metre breaststroke, in the process establishing another world record.

Only a few months after his retirement, on November 11, 1989 while outside a nightclub, Victor Davis was struck by an automobile whose driver fled the scene. Two days later, the 25 year-old died of his injuries in hospital.

Victors parents fulfilled his express wish that his organs be donated to help save the lives of others. The swimmer’s heart, liver, kidneys and two cornea were transplanted.

Help me solve the mystery of the missing ping

Can anyone solve the mystery of the missing ping?

Technorati says this blog was last updated 3 days ago (lies) and my authority is listed at 2 (lies).

The search engines I can understand, but this Technorati thing is making me crazy! I never really cared before now because my other blog was essentially designed for the search engines. But now I want to blog, and Technorati is giving me a hard time.

I have added the little ping code to my blog, and I have manually gone to Technorati and pressed PING… but still no ping. So if anyone can help me that would be wonderful.

I am hoping that they will ping me with this post - but what if they don’t? And shouldn’t my authority increase regardless of being pinged?

Motorcycling around the world… on Hack A Day?

I have the Hack A Day feed on my iGoogle, and I was really shocked to see this among their posts:

Motorcycling around the world

I thought: that’s not a hack… ?

But it’s freaking awesome. That would be just about the best thing, to ride around the world on a motorcycle. I am putting that on my list of things to do. BTW the little black lines on the map show where she has been - again - freaking awesome.
